Irish landscape oil painting | An ode to Childhood | Polly Gribben

This 60x60cm oil painting is currently part of the USWA annual exhibition at Crumlin Road Gaol - the exhibition runs 4th - 14th August.

The big sky sunset in a wide open field spoke to me about everything that is special and fleeting about childhood.  The girls depicted know the joy and beauty of the moment and the possibilities are endless in their imaginary world.  It's a captured moment that, like the sunset, will pass - but live on in our shared experience!  I hope you can view it as a celebration of both.
