Irish landscape oil painting | In the steps of Patrick, Slemish | Polly Gribben

'In the steps of Patrick' was born from my love of this land I get to call home.  Climbing Slemish is something I have done from an early age, and have followed the tradition with my own children.  We climbed it as a family on St Patrick's day this year, early in the morning to avoid the crowds.  It was wonderful to look out over the landscape with its array of greens and browns and to think it was the same landscape Patrick looked on as he tended his sheep.  We walk the physical paths he is said to have trod but more importantly the paths of faith that he brought to Ireland so long ago.
